The art studio ‘Officine Teodora’ by Diana Naponiello, has been active for over 20 years within the glass manufacturing field, floor mosaics, internal decoration and restoration of artworks.

Regarding ‘Glass Art’ – Glass walls with lead bindings are produced, cold working stained decorations, glass fusion and sandblasting.

The technique of ‘lead bindings’ ages back to the Medieval time, which was invented in North Europe, with the aim of decorating big gothic cathedrals. It is realised by using fragments of coloured glass in lead trims which are then placed in frames, specifically thought to create wonderful games of light and coloured reflections.

Other techniques create glass walls by cold working stained decorations and by cold colours and different materials. In this last case, the decorative technique is highly modern and can be used on different glass surfaces, creating great colour effects. This is suitable for modern and classic designs.

Regarding ‘Mosaics’ – The Art Studio makes internal floor and wall mosaics, using different materials, among which ceramics, enamels and natural stones. The technique has very old origins and many precious witnesses are fundable all over the Mediterranean countries.

Internal decorations – The ‘lacca povera’ technique was created in the XVII century in Venice, as imitation of the ancient Chinese laques. It involves a very thin manufacturing of ‘Golden leaf’ on wooden stands, eventually decorated and painted through the use of different materials, exclusively handcrafted polished with final crystal layer. Such production is specifically for pieces of furniture and interior design.
